Southern section of the Wine Route

Southern section of the Wine Route

Between Thann and Orschwihr, the vineyards become steeper. Around Thann and Guebwiller, the vines are mainly found on steep slopes and often require grape harvesters to rope up.

The museum at Thann, the southern gateway of the Alsace Wine Route, will help you understand these special wine-growing landscapes and the geological diversity of the terroirs of the Alsace wine region.

Towns and villages also offer many sightseeing possibilities: the Saint-Thiébaut Collegiate Church in Thann, the ancient fortified town of Cernay, the former Dominican convent in Guebwiller (a town of art and history), Wuenheim and its winegrowers’ museum.
