Medieval city of viticultural arts. Important tourism centre. Medieval remains (ramparts, 3 gateways). St. Sébastien chapel (Romanesque and gothic) with fine baroque carved wooden altar (17th C.) and charnel house. 16th C. town hall. Ruins of 12th C. Bernstein castle (2 hour return journey on foot). Grand Cru Frankstein vineyard trail. "Stones and granite wines" (2nd half of April). 'Wine Night" (1st Saturday of July). "Terroirs & Traditions" festival, last weekend of July. Music from 11am - "place du Marché"/Market place - Sunday mornings in July and August. Farmers’ market from mid-June to mid-September Mondays at 5 pm.
